Zanzibar International Film Festival 2011

18-26 June 2011. The 14th edition of ZIFF, the famous Zanzibar International Film Festival, is dedicated to A Season of Visions. This local event is the largest East African film, music, art and design festival and reunites new talent as well as famous artists from all over the world.

Every year ZIFF screens some of the most captivating and cutting-edge films, ranging from world-premiers to local shorts, by African as well as international directors, based on a yearly theme. During the festival week the participating movies are divided into various categories and competitions. In the final night the winning films are awarded and celebrated.

ZIFF foresees also a series of collateral musical events such as live music, dances, DJs and other musical performances by the best musicians coming from all over Africa.

Furthermore, ZIFF is accompanied by a rich calendar of exhibitions, workshops and cultural tours across Zanzibar.

During ZIFF 2010 over 45.000 foreign visitors participated to the festival, which represented 52 countries worldwide.

The main events will take place in Stone Town and Zanzibar, others on Pemba Island.
