The Centre for Brazilian Studies is part of a global network of centres that come under the auspices of the Brazilian embassy or consulate in the country in question and are the main instrument for promoting Brazilian cultural policy abroad. Activities include teaching Brazilian Portuguese, promoting Brazilian literature, distributing information about Brazil, organising art exhibitions and theatrical performances, co-publishing and distributing texts by national authors, promoting Brazilian music and cinema and organising other forms of Brazilian cultural expression such as workshops and seminars.
